The Project[]

  1. What is Second Wind? Second Wind is an expansion style mod that adds new content and overhauls existing features. A breakdown of these features can be seen in the wiki: https://secondwind.fandom.com/wiki/Project_Breakdown
  2. Is it done? If not, when will it release? Second Wind is split into two parts. Part 1 (Labours of the Hero) is planned for completion in Q4 2021. Part 2 (The Ancient Island) has not started development but we hope to release it before the sequel for Breath of the Wild releases.
  3. What if I can't wait? Head to downloads and try it out! Please take note that until we push the final release you will likely find one or two bugs.
  4. What is currently done? All content that is added is mentioned in the Patch Notes that can be found in the downloads channel. A table containing the project progress can also be found here: https://secondwind.fandom.com/wiki/Project_Progress
  5. Is X mod in Second Wind? Officially no. Second Wind does not directly take anything from existing mods. We do take ideas found in other mods and then tweak them to fit within the scope of Second Wind (e.g the anvils and blacksmiths inspired by the Crafting Project).
  6. Where is Version 1.9.0 and earlier? Due to how we've decided to develop the mod version 1.9.1 is the first version of Second Wind. The final version will be Version 2.0.0
  7. Why 2.0.0? Originally this project was called the BotW 2.0 project. The final version being 2.0.0 is simply a reference to that.
  8. When do new releases come out? We'll try to release an update on the 28th of every other Month.
  9. Is this on Switch? Not yet but eventually. A Switch port will be made for Part 1 once it has finished development.
  10. Second Wind isn't in X Language, can I translate for you? Translations will occur after we've finished writing, editing and finalising texts for Part 1 of the project. This will happen approximately around August.
  11. Can I support this project monetarily? Although we don't take direct donations you can help support the individual team members via the links in the support-and-donations channel.
  12. How can I join the team? Ask for more information in general and someone will reach out to you.

Using Second Wind[]

  1. How do I install Second Wind? Like most mods, simply follow the guide here: https://zeldamods.org/wiki/Help:Using_mods
  2. Do I install the new update alongside the old one? Always replace or update your old version with the latest one. Any additional files we provide should be installed alongside Second Wind.
  3. Does this mod work with Linkle/Zelda/etc? For the most part yes, this mod should work with all other mods. New armours, dialogue and other Link specific changes will of course be in their Second Wind forms. If you experience red textures when using Linkle please install the Linkle Dye Compatibility mod. If your game crashes when playing you'll either need to uninstall the Zelda mod or the Girly Animations mod while playing anything that caused a crash. Further mod compatibility can be checked here: https://secondwind.fandom.com/wiki/Mod_Compatibility
  4. I can't see any of the new text, what do I do? Make sure your language settings in BCML are set according to the version of the game you're using (e.g EU for Europe). Once it's set hit remerge and the issue should be fixed.
  5. I keep on getting Blood Moons, is this normal? Unfortunately due to the inability to optimise the game panic blood moons are common when using Second Wind. Tools to fix this are currently in development however if playing on Cemu the Extended Memory as well as the Ganon Sleeps graphics packs can help to minimise such occurrences.
  6. Okay, what's the difference between a normal and panic Blood Moon? Normal blood moons occur after a set amount of time or when a certain number of enemies are defeated. This is a normal procedure to ensure the world doesn't feel too empty. Panic blood moons are a fail-safe put in place by Nintendo to flush the system if anything in-game is causing significant instability. This can come from too many enemies in the same space, objects behaving in an unintended way or physics/collision related issues.
  7. I keep on crashing, what do I do? The first thing to do is uninstall any other mods that don't come with Second Wind and set your game to a maximum of 30fps. If the issue persists let us know. If it seems to be resolved install mods one by one until you're able to replicate the issue again. Any bugs should be reported in help-and-feedback but please use the search function to check if anyone else has reported similar issues.
  8. Can I disable/uninstall Second Wind without any issue and then come back to it? Yes, it's perfectly fine to uninstall Second Wind with no issues unless you're in a new area created by the mod (this applies to any mod that adds new areas). You'll need to first warp to a vanilla area, save and then uninstall the mod. The only consequence of temporarily not using Second Wind is the loss of any progress, items or save data when you return to the mod. This happens if you've saved the game with Second Wind uninstalled.
  9. What priority should this mod be? In BCML Second Wind should be the lowest priority with all other mods above it (Priority 100).
