New Chromebook models come with 1 year of free 100GB storage capacity on Google One. This is useful, as many Chromebook models have limited internal storage capacity for all your files. This free online storage isn't directly available after booting up your new Chromebook. In these 5 steps, we'll explain how to activate this Google One online storage, so you can store all your files online. These steps only work on a new Chromebook.
- Activate
- Promotion website
- Redeem
- Terms and conditions
- Check
- Success
Activate your free 100GB Google One storage
- Go to the promotion website
- Accept the Terms and Conditions and complete the process
Step 1: surf to the promotion website
Make sure you use a Google account without an active Google One subscription. Open the Chrome browser on your new Chromebook and go to: https://www.google.com/intl/en_us/chromebook/perks/.
Step 2: redeem promotion
Look for a banner with the Google One logo on the promotion page. Click on the button 'Take advantage' below the explanation of the promotion.
Step 3: terms and conditions
After you've clicked 'Get perk', a popup appears with the Terms and Conditions. Read these conditions well and click the 'Continue' button below the text.
Step 4: check
A new popup appears now. Google wants to verify your Chromebook qualifies for this promotion. Press the blue button 'Allow' to start this verification process.
Step 5: success
After verification, you'll see if your Chromebook qualifies. If you see the notification 'Success', you can get started with storing all your files and photos on the 100GB Google One drive. Didn't this work? You might not qualify for the promotion because you already have an active subscription.
