How To Access Your Capital One Virtual Card Number Online
Accessing your card information online with Capital One is not only convenient, but the process is super easy and straightforward. To find your Capital One virtual credit card number when using a desktop browser, start by logging into your account. You can do that here.
Once logged in, select the account you would like to access to go to the account's home page. From here, you can find the option to see your card information at the top of the page. Just click on the “View Card Number” option and voilà — all of your card information, including your card number, expiration date, and card verification value (CVV — the code on the back of the card) is right there, ready for you to use.
Additionally, some cards will have the option to get your virtual card right on the main page.
Note that you may be asked to verify your account via text message or email before accessing your account information.
A second option is to pull up your card number and information by accessing your account's homepage and navigating to the “I Want To” button on the right side.
Once there, scroll down to the bottom of the “Control Your Card” list and choose the “View Card Number” option.
This is where you'll be prompted to verify your information to your account number.
To find your Capital One virtual credit card number when using your app, start by logging in. You will choose “Get Your Virtual Card” directly under the account you wish to view.
Note that you may be asked to verify your account via text message or email before your account information is available to view. If you have multiple users on your card, you'll be prompted to pick the user's account number you wish to view.
How To Create a Capital One Virtual Credit Card Number
A virtual card number is not the same as accessing your credit card account number. In fact, a virtual card number is used to essentially “mask” your real card information. The virtual number is tied to your actual account, but — since it is not your real card number and can be changed by you quite easily — it is much harder for your information to be compromised. Virtual card numbers can help significantly cut back on fraud by keeping your info safe and secure.
Fortunately, creating a temporary Capital One virtual credit card number is another great option available to cardholders.
Desktop
Capital One uses a program known as Eno, which allows you to create virtual card numbers that are linked to your designated Capital One cards. You can do this when shopping from your desktop. Eno is a browser extension that creates merchant-specific virtual cards.
According to Capital One, “If a merchant is compromised, just lock the virtual card or create a new one.” The best part is that locking a virtual card won't impact your ability to use your actual account.
To set up Eno, you'll need to have a compatible browser, which can be Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Chromium Edge, or Safari. You can access the download here. Once you download the extension, you'll need to log into your Capital One account.
You'll also need to make sure you have a card on hand to verify some of your information. Or, better yet, open up your Capital One online account and snag your information that way. You don't even have to get out of your chair!
Once the browser is installed, you can begin customizing from there.
Capital One mobile app
You also can view your Capital One virtual card number through the Capital One mobile app. If you don't have the Capital One app, you can download it from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Once the app is installed, select the account for which you need the card information. You'll then be taken to the next screen. Scroll down a bit and look for the option that says “Virtual Card” and select the “Get a Number” option.
Next, you'll see several features to choose from. Select the “View Your Virtual Card Number” option.
At this point, Capital One may ask to verify your device via text, phone call, or email. Once verified, your card information will be available. You can use it just like you would any time you shop online.
Capital One Credit Cards That Offer a Virtual Card Number
One of Capital One's most useful features is the ability to get a virtual card number to use immediately upon opening an account. This feature can give you a head start on earning miles or cash back. A spokesperson for Capital One confirmed that most cards are eligible for a virtual card number.

Other Cards That Allow You To View Your Card Number Online
Not many banks are keen on allowing users to access their credit card information online — and for good reason. The most obvious reason is due to security concerns.
As far as the more well-known banks of the points and miles world, only Capital One allows you to access your credit card number and info online. Remember that this is different than generating virtual card numbers.
Some banks will, however, give you your credit card information when you first apply and are approved for a new account. For example, American Express lets new customers access their credit card information online following application approval while awaiting the arrival of their card in the mail. Citi also offers this on most (but not all) of its cards. For both issuers, accessing your card information right away is based on the issuer's ability to verify your identity during the process.
Although you can't get your information specifically from your online account, many banks will provide your account number on your statement. While this can be handy, it does not include your expiration or CVV number, so its usefulness can be limited.

Remember that virtual card numbers essentially cloak your real credit card information. Not all banks offer the ability to create virtual card numbers, but there are a few:
