After having dermal fillers, there are a few things you should do to ensure you get the best results from your treatments and avoid any potential excessive side effects. These include:
- Avoiding aspirin, Motrin, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E or any other essential fatty acids at least 3 days to 1 week after treatment
- Do not touch, press, rub or manipulate the injected areas for at least 6 hours after treatment
- Avoid vigorous exercise, sun and heat exposure for 2 days post treatment
- Avoid the use of Retinol or similar products for 2 days after treatment
- Avoid cosmetic treatments such as laser, ultrasound, peels, facials or microdermabrasion for 2 weeks after your treatment
- Try to avoid wearing makeup until the day after your treatment
- Avoid drinking alcohol for at least 24 hours after your treatment
These are just some general rules, but your practitioner will be able to advise you during your consultation.
If you have any concerns, always contact your health care practitioner.
