How to Recover After a Vampire Facelift! (2024)

April 15, 2019

If you thought that the Twilight series made vampires famous, then you haven’t met the vampire facelift. As one of the most popular treatments that we offer our patients, the vampire facelift can help take years off of your face without you ever having to go under the knife. By using a combination of platelet rich plasma and microneedling, we can help patients treat a variety of skincare concerns including fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, sun spots, and scars. To make sure that you get the best results from treatment, however, it’s important that you know exactly how to recover.

Watch the Sun

After you have any sort of skin care procedure or treatments done, you should try to avoid the sun as much as possible— especially after a vampire facelift. Why? Because the sun can irritate your skin and slow down your results. For the first week after you get a vampire facelift, try to avoid any direct contact with the sun. If you do have an event that you have planned outside, make sure that you wear a broad spectrum sunscreen.

Use Gentle Products

Another thing that we encourage patients to do is use gentle skincare products that don’t contain any alcohol. Even though alcohol has cleansing components that can be beneficial, it can also irritate your skin as it’s healing. Instead, try to use gentle skincare products or even products that contain anti aging ingredients like hyaluronic acid.

Wash Your Face and Moisturize

As your skin heals from a vampire facelift, you may notice that it gets really dry and starts to scab off in some places. To help you combat these side effects, make sure that you are using a gentle moisturizing cream and moisturizing cleanser both morning and night. After about seven days, your skin should not only look more youthful and vibrant, but your side effects should wear off as well.

Now that you know how to recover from your vampire facelift, it’s time to schedule your skincare consultation with Dr. Bertolino. Contact us at our Williamsville office and call (716) 633-6100.
