What size cable do I need for 32 amp 3 phase? ›

Any combination of plug, cable and socket. Cable sizes: We recommend using 4.0mm cables for lower power & shorter cables. 6.0mm for full 32A continuous use and longer cables.

100-foot extension cord maximum length

The maximum length of an extension cord is set at 100-feet by OSHA standards. Any worksite that needs a longer extension must put a temporary power distribution box in place.

The most common cable lengths are: 3m, 5m, 10m, 20m, 25m and 50m extension cables.

The regulations allow for a 145% increase in current carrying capacity for one hour so using a 6mm for a maximmum load od 32A with a 32A MCB is acceptable. It is not possible to protect a 6mm cable with a maximum load of over 50A with a 32A MCB.

So in term of your 32A supply the 6mm cable is absolutely fine. No reason for unnecessary additional costs. But in order to say if that sufficient for what you're going to have you need to know your total load (how many watts), so if you use a 6mm cable then it's 44A X 230V=10,120W that's what your cable can take.
