How Does Stop and Shop Pickup Work?

Stop and Shop pickup is a service where an in-store shopper finds groceries for you, then you pick up your order at a local store. You can order almost any item for pickup, including Stop and Shop deli and the bakery. Shoppers select the best quality items, make substitutions as needed and bring your order to your car.

You can order Stop and Shop pickup on the app or website. The app is called “Stop & Shop,” which you can download on the App Store or Google Play.

You will need to choose “Pickup” as your shopping method. Then, you browse and select items online, just as if you were shopping in the store.

The minimum Stop and Shop pickup order is $30. This minimum order size does not include taxes or additional fees, such as the pickup fee.

Once you place your order, you will receive an email confirmation with details about where to pick up your order. Arrive at your local Stop and Shop at your designated pickup time and park your car in a designated parking spot.

Then, call the Stop and Shop pickup phone number, which is provided in your confirmation email, and your groceries will soon be brought out to your car.

Stop and Shop offers a “Fast Pickup” option if you have the app. Once you download the app, you can enable location services (select “Always Allow”) before picking up your order.

Next, you can check in on the app when you are about to leave to pick up your order. The location services will help alert the Stop and Shop employees when you have arrived at the store, and they will bring your order out right away.

The hours for Stop and Shop pickup are 8:00 am-9:00 pm. You can select a one-hour pickup window within these hours.

Stop and Shop offers same-day pickup, so you can have your groceries ready in a matter of hours. However, there are a limited number of spots for each pickup window, and you can pick a time slot almost two weeks out.

Stop and Shop Pickup allows you to order any item from the regular aisles you would see at the store in person. Additionally, you can place a deli order via Stop and Shop Pickup.

Specifically, sliced deli meat and cheese, prepared foods, and party trays can all be ordered for pickup, among many other great products. You can also place a Stop and Shop cake order online.

Note that custom cake orders are considered “Entertaining Orders,” which are handled slightly differently than regular pickup orders.

If an item you ordered is not in stock, your in-store shopper will select a substitution. You can turn off substitutions for specific items when you order if you want to be refunded instead.

You can also change your substitution preferences for all items using the “Shopping Preferences” section in your account management area on the app or the website.

You are essentially guaranteed to receive high-quality products with your order because Stop and Shop trains their in-store shoppers to select the best available items for their pickup and delivery orders.

However, if you are unhappy with a particular item, you can return the item for a refund. To do this, call Stop and Shop Customer Service at 1-800-767-7772 within a week of picking up your order.

The Customer Service department is also helpful for canceling orders altogether. Contact Stop and Shop Customer Service or your local store at least 24 hours in advance to cancel your online order.

Keep in mind that the Customer Service department is closed on Sundays, so you may need to call your store directly.

However, the Stop and Shop app enables you to easily use the “Fast Pickup” service with your mobile phone’s location services.

How Much Does Stop and Shop Pickup Cost?

Stop and Shop pickup costs $2.95 per order. New customers can usually find Stop and Shop promo codes to have free pickup for the first order. GO Pass subscribers get free pickup for every order.

Unlike many other stores, Stop and Shop has the same in-store prices for pickup and delivery orders. The small pickup fee contributes to the cost of having a personal in-store shopper.

Check out the Stop and Shop website to find promo codes for new customers. They usually offer free pickup for the first order.

If you want Stop and Shop free pickup for every order, purchase a GO Pass subscription. It is offered to all residents living near a Stop and Shop.

Can You Use Coupons for Stop and Shop Pickup?

You can use digital or paper coupons for Stop and Shop pickup. Digital coupons are accessed via the app or the website. You can only clip them if you have a Stop and Shop card. Paper coupons can be placed in an envelope, labeled with your name or order number, and handed to the employee who brings out your groceries.

You can apply for a Stop and Shop card today and clip coupons for your next purchase. You can apply online when you sign up for an account.

Applying online will give you access to your card right away with a temporary, printable card. You can also apply in person at the Customer Service Desk of your local store to get a physical card right away.

Digital coupons are found in two places when you are shopping online. First, you will see offers displayed under specific items to which the coupons apply.

Second, you can browse all digital coupons available on the app or website. Remember to click “Clip Coupon” to ensure that coupons are applied to your order before checking out.

Since paper coupons are brought to the store when you pick up your order, the discounts will not be displayed when ordering. The charge for your order is pending for enough time to allow for adjustments such as adding paper coupons.

Any points that you earn with the GO Rewards program will expire 30 days later. You can redeem your points for various discounts on products, gas, and other special rewards.

Once you redeem them, you will have a given amount of time to use that offer (usually another 30 days). Sign up for Stop and Shop GO Rewards to earn a discount with your next purchase.

Hi, Brenda. We are pleased to accept SNAP EBT payments from customers shopping Pickup and Delivery on the Stop & Shop website or mobile app. SNAP customers can also shop Stop & Shop stores via Instacart. For more info, visit https://t.co/rNTIXffgpx.

Can You Use EBT for Stop and Shop Pickup?

You can use EBT for Stop and Shop pickup. When you shop online, you will see labels on each item eligible for SNAP benefits. Then, you will add your SNAP EBT card as a payment method when checking out. You will need a secondary payment method for extra fees. Stop and Shop does not accept WIC benefits for pickup orders.

It is easy to add your EBT card as a payment method for your pickup order. To do this, go to the “Payment Information” section of your app or website when signed into your account.

Here, you will see an option to add the card information. When you go to Checkout, make sure to select “Apply SNAP benefits” and enter the amount of funds you want to be applied to your order. Any funds that are not used will be returned to the EBT card.

One benefit of using your EBT card is that you are not required to meet the order minimum for pickup. So as long as you have SNAP-eligible items in your cart, you will be able to use Stop and Shop Pickup no matter your order total.

However, if you want free pickup with the GO Pass, you will need to meet the order minimum. Otherwise, you will still be charged the standard $2.95 pickup fee.

What Payment Methods Does Stop and Shop Accept Online?

Stop and Shop accepts credit cards, debit cards, and EBT cards as payment methods for online orders. You can also connect your checking account to your Stop and Shop account to be charged for online orders. Gift cards are not currently accepted for online orders; they can only be used when shopping in-store.

There are a variety of electronic payment methods accepted for online pickup orders. You can add new payment methods by accessing your account online.

However, gift cards cannot be entered at this time because you must present the physical gift card in person for it to be used.

If you prefer to pay with a gift card or with cash, you will need to shop on your own at your local Stop and Shop.

We appreciate your thoughtfulness, but unfortunately our store employees are not permitted to accept tips at pickup. We do accept words of kindness, so if you message us the store location and associate name, we will definitely share your praise!

Do You Tip Stop and Shop Pickup?

Stop and Shop does not allow tips for pickup. Tipping is not allowed on pickup orders because the in-store shopper who fulfills your order is likely someone different from the person bringing the order out to your car. Thus, it may be unfair if only one of the employees involved receives the tip.

When considering tipping, Stop and Shop Pickup is different from Stop and Shop Delivery. You are allowed to tip your delivery drivers.

On the other hand, the pickup services offered at most stores are covered by the small pickup fee attached to your order.

Conclusion

Stop and Shop pickup is an affordable service that can save you time on your grocery trip. You still select all your groceries, but an in-store shopper does all the hard work for you. Sign up for a Stop and Shop account today to start using this service and take advantage of additional discounts on your next shopping experience.
